Room for larger projects

The 280 mm space to the right of the needle helps you handle quilts, garments and home furnishings. The workspace is 120 mm high. Remove the accessory compartment for free-arm sewing around cuffs and trouser legs. Five white LED lamps illuminate the sewing area.

The stitch chart sits in the lid. Front, under-arm and upper storage compartments keep tools organised. An extra-wide table, cloth guide and semi-hard cover are optional extras.

Move fabric layers together

The detachable AcuFeed Flex twin holder and AD foot help feed layered fabric from above and below. Use the dual-feed balancing dial to adjust feeding when layers need different movement. Remove the unit when using ordinary feet.

The seven-piece feed dog and seven-level pressure dial help you adjust for your fabric. The tension dial has an AUTO setting for general sewing. Manual adjustment lets you fine-tune for the fabric, layers and stitch.

Choose stitches and decorative details

Explore 170 stitches and ten one-step buttonhole styles. Stitch width adjusts up to 9 mm and length up to 5 mm. Add sewing lettering, numbers, accented characters or monograms while guiding the fabric.

Mirror eligible patterns, elongate selected satin stitches up to five times and programme pattern combinations. Startover returns a combination to its beginning. The backlit LCD shows settings and the recommended foot. Separate touch-panel keys make selections and adjustments.

Control the pace and finish seams

Sew at speeds up to 1,000 stitches per minute. Limit the pace with the speed slider, then use the foot control or start/stop button. Holding start/stop lets you sew slowly at the beginning or end of a seam.

Memorised needle up/down, reverse and auto-lock buttons help with turns and seam endings. The automatic cutter trims the upper and bobbin threads together. The adjustable knee lift raises the foot while your hands stay on the fabric.

Prepare for precise stitching

A built-in needle threader, Easy Set top-loading bobbin and bobbin-winder cutter simplify preparation. Use the release lever to change between the standard and supplied straight-stitch plates. The straight plate has left, centre and right needle openings.

The convertible free-motion foot set supplies closed-toe, open-toe and clear-view soles. Lower the feed dogs for free-motion work. The lockout control helps when threading or changing accessories. Twin-needle mode restricts suitable settings. Follow the manual for each setup.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MC8200QCP suitable for quilting?

Yes. Its 280 mm workspace gives you room to handle quilts. The twin AcuFeed holder and foot help with layered sewing. The quarter-inch foot supports piecing, and the free-motion set provides three sole options.

Which AcuFeed equipment is included?

The twin AcuFeed holder and AD foot are included. The single holder and its feet are optional. Match additional soles to the holder you use.

Does it stitch embroidery files?

It sews lettering and decorative stitches while you guide the fabric. It does not stitch embroidery files in a moving hoop. Ask our team about an embroidery machine if that is what you need.

Can I sew without the pedal?

Yes. Disconnect the foot control and use start/stop. Set the maximum pace with the speed slider. The foot control is included if you prefer pedal operation.

Does the automatic cutter trim both threads?

Yes. It trims the upper and bobbin threads together. Cutting can also be programmed with suitable pattern combinations. Follow the manual for thick or specialised threads.

Are the knee lift and straight-stitch plate included?

Yes. Both are included. The wide table, cloth guide and semi-hard cover are optional extras.

Is the MC8200QCP high shank?

Yes. It is a high-shank, 9 mm machine. Choose screw-on feet and attachments for this exact model. Ordinary clip-on feet and AcuFeed feet use different holders.

Can it sew thick materials?

It can sew a range of household fabrics and layered projects when the needle, thread, foot and settings suit the work. Test your actual layers first. Avoid forcing bulky seams through the machine.

What should I check if stitches or feeding are uneven?

Check threading, bobbin placement, needle condition and the selected foot. Test tension and pressure on matching scraps. With AcuFeed attached, check engagement and its balance setting. Follow the manual for cleaning and adjustments.

Where can I find setup instructions?

The instruction book and instructional DVD are included. Read the Special Edition brochure for a feature overview.
