Before you sew

Use two upper threads and thread the needle eyes by hand. Fit the required zigzag needle plate and suitable foot. Select permitted twin-needle settings, then turn the handwheel to check clearance. Test on spare fabric and adjust tension so the seam has the stretch your project needs.
