Guide thread into the needle eye from the side rather than through the small opening. The side slot makes threading easier for everyday repairs and sewing on suitable medium-weight woven fabric.

Machine suitability

Before you sew
Switch the machine off and fit the needle following your manual. Guide a loop of thread down the right side until it enters the eye through the slot. Test on spare fabric. Use this needle with suitable woven fabric; fine, delicate fabric can catch in the slot.
