Janome DM7200: decorative sewing, lettering and quilting
The DM7200 combines everyday sewing controls with 200 built-in stitches and an alphabet. Make garments, personalise quilt labels and add decorative details to home projects. The backlit LCD shows your chosen stitch, recommended foot and stitch settings.
An automatic thread cutter trims both the needle and bobbin threads at the press of a button. Your package includes seven sewing feet, a buttonhole stabiliser plate, an extension table and a hard cover.

Choose stitches and personalise your work
Direct selection keys put everyday stitches within easy reach. Use the detachable reference chart to find decorative patterns and lettering. Adjust stitch width up to 7 mm and length up to 5 mm for suitable stitches.
Choose from 12 buttonhole styles and an eyelet hole for garment details. Elongate selected satin stitches up to five times to vary their appearance. The English and European alphabet adds names and messages to your sewing. Combine up to 50 characters or stitch patterns with the memory function.
Keep useful controls close at hand
Set the pace with the speed slider, up to 820 stitches per minute. The start/stop button lets you sew without the foot control. Needle up/down helps you stop with the needle positioned for your next step.
Use reverse or the auto-lock function to secure appropriate stitches. The cutter memory function can trim threads at the end of a programmed sequence.
Prepare your fabric and thread
The built-in needle threader helps with threading the needle eye. The Easy Set top-loading bobbin guides the thread through a channel, so you can begin without drawing up the bobbin thread by hand.
Six levels of foot pressure and manual thread tension let you adjust for the fabric. The seven-piece feed dog moves it through the machine. Test the actual layers on an offcut before starting your project.
Support larger projects and smaller pieces
Attach the included extension table to support quilting and larger pieces of fabric. The quarter-inch foot helps with piecing. Lower the feed dogs for darning or free-motion sewing with a suitable optional foot.
Remove the accessory compartment to expose the free arm for sleeves and cuffs. LED lighting illuminates the sewing area. Store the machine beneath the supplied hard cover.

Questions about the Janome DM7200
What projects can I sew with the DM7200?
Use it for dressmaking, repairs, decorative sewing and quilting. Its stitch range, alphabet and extension table offer room to develop your projects. Choose needles, thread and settings for the fabric you are using.
Can it stitch names and quilt labels?
Yes. Its alphabet lets you stitch lettering, and the memory function combines up to 50 characters or patterns. This is lettering sewn with the sewing foot, rather than hoop embroidery.
Does the automatic cutter cut both threads?
Yes. Press the cutter button to trim the needle and bobbin threads. The cutter memory function can also trim them after a programmed sequence.
Can I sew without the foot pedal?
Yes. Use the start/stop button and speed slider for pedal-free sewing. Follow the instruction book when switching between button and foot-control operation.
Does it include a quilting table and quilting foot?
Yes. The extension table and quarter-inch seam foot O are included. A walking foot or free-motion foot is an optional accessory for other quilting methods.
How does the Easy Set bobbin help?
Drop the bobbin into place and guide its thread through the marked channel. You can start sewing without pulling the bobbin thread up by hand. Follow the threading path in the instruction book.
How can I prevent uneven stitches?
Start with a suitable needle and thread. Check threading and bobbin placement, then test tension, stitch settings and foot pressure on matching fabric. If the problem continues, contact our friendly team for help.
Where can I find the features and operating instructions?
The instruction book is included. You can also read Janome’s Australian DM7200 brochure. Use the supplied book for setup, stitch programming and maintenance.
