Janome Jem Platinum JP760: compact sewing with practical controls
The Jem Platinum JP760 brings computerised sewing controls to a compact, three-quarter-size machine. Its 60 stitches include everyday, stretch and decorative patterns, with five one-step buttonholes. It is a useful size for sewing classes, guild meetings and a smaller sewing space.
A speed slider, needle up/down and an automatic locking-stitch button help you control your work. The top-loading bobbin and built-in needle threader simplify setup. Your package includes three sewing feet, the foot control and a hard cover.
Choose stitches for everyday projects
Use the four stitch-selection keys and digital indicator to select a pattern. The pull-out reference chart at the machine base shows the stitch library. Stitch width adjusts up to 5 mm and length up to 4 mm, with needle-position adjustment for suitable straight stitches.
Five one-step buttonhole styles give you options for different projects. The automatic buttonhole foot sizes the buttonhole to your button. Test on matching fabric and stabiliser before sewing the garment.
Control the start, stop and finish
Use the foot control or disconnect it to sew with the start/stop button. The speed slider limits the maximum pace, helping with careful work and learning new techniques.
Needle up/down lets you stop with the needle in the fabric for a turn. Use reverse or auto-lock to secure a seam, then trim the thread tails with the manual cutter. The JP760 does not have a push-button automatic thread cutter.
Prepare the machine for your fabric
The full rotary-hook bobbin loads from the top, with a clear cover so you can check the thread supply. The auto-declutch bobbin winder winds a fresh bobbin, and the needle threader helps guide thread through the needle eye.
Set the thread tension for your fabric and use the stitch-balance adjustment when a stretch pattern needs correction. Choose suitable needles and thread, and test on an offcut. Sew bulky denim joins slowly and let the feed dogs move the fabric.
Move between flat-bed and free-arm sewing
The four-piece feed dog supports everyday sewing. Remove the accessory compartment for free-arm work on sleeves and small openings. Lower the feed dogs for darning or free-motion sewing with a suitable optional foot.
Snap-on feet make it easy to change tasks. The carry handle and hard cover help with transport and storage. The machine weighs approximately 5.5 kg, making it a practical companion for classes.

Does the machine cut threads automatically?
No. Auto-lock secures the stitching, while the side cutter trims the thread manually. These are separate functions.
What sewing feet and cover are included?
