SCHMETZ ELx705 overlocker and coverstitch needles
Choose the needle type and size for your fabric and machine. These needles have a second thread groove to support chain-stitch formation.
Available options
- Standard ELx705: 80/12 and 90/14.
- ELx705 CF (Chrome Finish): 80/12 and 90/14.
- ELx705 CF SUK (Chrome Finish, medium ball point): 90/14.
Choosing the type
CF means Chrome Finish. The CF version has a slightly rounded point for a range of fabrics. The CF SUK version has a medium ball point suited to knitted fabrics such as jersey and sweatshirt fabric.

Janome: CoverPro 900CP, 1000CP, 1000CPX, 2000CPX and 3000P.
Elna: eXtend CoverMax and EasyCover.
Choose the ELx705 type and size required by your machine manual and fabric.
Before sewing
Switch off before replacing a needle. Follow your machine instructions for fitting and threading. Test the selected needle, thread and settings on a spare piece of your project fabric.
